Privacy Policy

This is a hobby and should be fun. We will never use your information to send you marketing materials, SPAM,.. anything*. Your data is stored on a server with limited physical and network access and is reasonably safe. Passwords are stored in encrypted form and are never shown in the clear or sent via email anywhere.

Here is the data we collect and how we use it: If you find that any of your information has been used in a way you think is inappropriate, please contact us here.

Personal information like your name, a login ID, pilot numbers, VA affiliation information like hubs and airline, etc. This information is used to enable automatic PIREP emails to be sent to your designated hub manager as well as allow you to manage your account and store your flight log data.

Your IP address is recorded each time you log in. This is done to limit unauthorized log in attempts and to monitor site activity. IP addresses are not linked to user accounts in any way. We don't keep IP addresses unless there is a problem associated with that address. There is one exception and that is in the Administrative area. In all VA Admin areas, all activities like updating VA and hub status, adding or deleting managers, etc. is logged with the user's ID and IP address. This is done so that bad behavior can be tracked. These logs are periodically purged and are not used other than for tracing who did what in the case of confusion or for dispute resolution.

The only other data we have is your flight log and we save that because that is why we are here.

*Emails from US
Did we mention that we hate SPAM? We may send update and announcement emails from time to time (actually very rarely) with important information on new features or service information. You have to tell us you want to get these emails (you can do that on the User Settings page) or we won't send them to you. That is all we will do with your email address other than for PIREP submission.

Cookies
We use cookies to keep track of your session whenever you log on. We set the cookies to expire when the session is over so when you close your browser they should be deleted. You can feel free to delete them after you are logged out of the site but please don't delete them while you are using the site - you will be asked to log in again and you may lose data in the process.
